Manon by Massenet – A French Opera of Love, Greed and Tragedy

Boulder Opera presents one of French opera’s masterpieces!

Manon Lescaut-a young beautiful woman- arrives in Paris preparing for a life of service at a convent. The young Des Grieux catches sight of her. They instantly fall in love, abandon their plans, and flee together to live a story is full of innocence, love, betrayal, and tragedy.

Enjoy this beautiful work under the baton of Steven Aguiló-Arbues, featuring an ensemble orchestra, Gene Roberts as Stage Director, with Amy Maples as Manon, and Cody Laun as Des Grieux.

UPDATE: Join us on February 18th at the lobby of the Dairy Arts Center at 6:00PM for an introductory talk with Stage Director, Gene Roberts, who will walk you through the story and music of “Manon” and will share insights on this great opera right before you see it on stage. There will be a food truck outside available before the performance and during intermission.
