The Super Santa 5K and Kids 1K Fun Run at Twisted Pine Brewing Company – 3201 Walnut St Suite A, Boulder, CO 80301, is an event celebrating family and friends and the many aspects in our community that we can be thankful for. It is also a time to think about those who are less fortunate and in keeping with traditions, this event will be supporting Boulder Voices For Children with a donation from race proceeds. We are kindly asking all participants to donate a new gift of a toy or article of clothing on the morning of the event (ages 0 – 18), and we will pass these on and hopefully we can bring a smile to the faces of children who might not otherwise have presents on Christmas morning.

Boulder Voices For Children’s mission is to provide trained court-appointed volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in Boulder County. More than 2,500 children experience abuse and neglect each year, right here in Boulder County. More than 300 are removed from their home and placed in foster care. As the children grow, they are faced with a difficult path, complicated by the physical, psychological and emotional trauma they have experienced. Many of these children bounce from foster placement to foster placement, have several different social workers, attorneys, and therapists, and will move schools frequently. Boulder Voices For Children are committed to making sure that these children have one consistent adult advocate in their life.

As we celebrate the true spirit of Christmas with family and friends, the Super Santa 5K is a chance for us to acknowledge the amazing work that Boulder Voices for Children does in our local community, and also think about those children in our community who won’t have the opportunity to enjoy Christmas this year.
