MOXIE: How long have you been in business in Colorado? STURTZ & COPELAND: Sturtz and Copeland has been a business in the Boulder community since 1929! On February 22, 2022 I (Sarah) took the reins after working at Sturtz for 2 years prior to the sale of the business. Prior to Sturtz, I owned a flower shop/ event florist business in Crested Butte for 8 years.
MOXIE: Do you have a business mission statement we can share? STURTZ & COPELAND: We believe in the power of human connection, especially human connection through nature. Our products and services allow customers to engage with loved ones near and far with the beauty of flowers and plants. We strive to maintain a strong connection with our customers by providing quality service and exceptional products. We understand that the success of the business is built with the loyalty of our customers and we love our customers!
MOXIE: Our records show we’ve been partners for a long time prior to you taking over maybe 8-10 years – is this accurate? STURTZ & COPELAND: Yes that sounds about right.
MOXIE: What do you specialize in? STURTZ & COPELAND: We specialize in design!- floral design, plant design and a bit of home decor/design. Sturtz houses wonderful floral designers that create arrangements for the everyday as well as events. We offer a diverse selection of indoor house plants, pottery for your plants and plant supplies. Sturtz has green plant experts on hand to help with plant selection, potting, care of your plants and diagnosing plant issues. Sturtz has been expanding and improving the gift, body care and home decor and we are excited about that selection in the shop. I am always looking for products that are local, organic, ethically made and sourced.
MOXIE: What is one tip or a special treat our Moxie Moms Members should consider when taking advantage of your goods or service? STURTZ & COPELAND: We have a fun baby/ younger kiddo selection at Sturtz- from locally made, organic baby/kids clothing, books, puzzles, crafts and stuffed animals! Stop by the new location at 3550 Arapahoe to see what’s new!

Support our partner – a local women owned business partner Sarah Schmitz
Just in time for the fall holidays and Thanksgiving, we will learn how to create a centerpiece for the holidays. Step by step instructions on how to create a fall inspired floral arrangement created inside a fresh pumpkin. Workshop includes instructions, the pumpkins, floral ingredients, and Moxie Moms will supply some wine and snacks! $100.00 per person.
During and after the workshop – Moxie Mom members can shop in the store with their 15% discount.
Minimum of 5 participants are needed to host.
